It may seem to many of you that I shouldn’t need to say this; but it is always important to make sure you talk to your DJ about any special music that you may want for your wedding. I always call my clients at least two weeks in advance ( if I haven’t heard from them) to work out all the last minute details. Among these is always the music the client wants for their special dances and just any other songs that they may want played during the evening.

It never ceases to amaze me that with all the music I have (and I have a ton of it) how often it is that I don’t have a particular song. I have one wedding coming up in the next month where the bride’s favorite song is by someone who doesn’t have a CD out yet. However, she told me this early on and we already have the music.

The problems occur when you have this type of a situation and I don’t get an answer on the music till the day before. Some clients have even told me to just use my “best judgement” on the songs and left it at that. It’s always worked out, but this is your special day. Don’t short change yourself.  Take the time to pick songs that mean something to you. It will make a big difference in how you remember the event in the future.
